Aaron Weiss knows how to escape. Years ago, he ran from a romantic disappointment and impulsively joined the Army. Now, he's forced to take a medical discharge, and readjusting to life at home proves a challenge.
Jesse Ross knows how to hide. He realizes he's an oddball, and that he's an outsider within his own family. He also knows his secret love since childhood, Aaron, only wants his good-looking, favored older brother. Yet Jesse could never completely abandon his intense feelings for Aaron. Over the years, Jesse was a faithful pen pal to him. Still, he's shocked to his core to find Aaron on his doorstep.
As long-buried secrets and past hurts take center stage, the two are overwhelmingly drawn to each other. But it's their future that may force them to risk everything.

The direction of your life can and will be influenced by coincidences. Aaron had by chance joined the Army and found "his" place there. Unfortunately an infection had put an abrupt end to chopper-pilot career and he is sort of "in free fall". At least with regards to his future. He goes - on a whim - to visit his childhood friend (and brother of his adolescence crush) Jesse. Jesse is still young, but already a sought-after artist. He has left the city and found his peaceful spot far away from the noise, and not least away from his not-so-quite-nice family. Then Aaron enters his world again. Jesse has had a crush on Aaron, although he knew that Aaron back then had feelings for his older brother. Jesse had never told Aaron about his feelings. During their letter-exchange years he remained just friendly. Although Jesse does not dare to hope, something has changed. Aaron does now "see" the grown-up person Jesse has become, the attractive man behind the beard.
It is a heartwarming story. At first sight Aaron and Jesse look as a mismatched couple. Outgoing, easygoing and fun loving Aaron is quite opposite to Jesse who hates crowds, prefers animals to people and creates wonderful sculptures. But love can be an incitement to make changes. And at the end they make it to work. I can actually picture them many years from now with couple of kids and still deeply in love.

The Only Guy The Guy Book 2 (Audible Audio Edition) Skylar M Cates Matt Baca Dreamspinner Press LLC Books Reviews
I liked this romance well enough that I bought the rest of the series. Loved forever romances are a treat.
Jesse is a great artist hero and I love who he is as a kid. Aaron took a long time to get a clue but when he did it was worth it.
Both our heroes need to work on communication but it is a fine romance with lots of great details.
I am posting the exact same review for each of the three books in this series for the following reason
Rarely if ever have I been diverted from reading in the manner that I am accustomed, i.e., hopping back and forth between three or four books of different genres when I need a break from the one I'm currently lapping up.
But I was so caught up with "The Guy From Glamour" that I had to go onto both "The Only Guy" and "The Last Guy Breathing" almost as soon as I put each one down.
My heartfelt advice is for you to do the same. Read the outlines of each book, cock an eyebrow like I did, and plunge in. This is what m/m romance is all about, and I defy you to keep a still heart or a dry eye, in any of them.
As much as I enjoyed Dean and Anthony's story, I liked this one a lot more. Aaron and Jesse are two people who have gone through a lot in the ten years since they last saw each other. I liked seeing them get to know each other again and also learn about themselves. I really appreciated seeing Aaron realize how much he has changed and matured and Jesse trying to overcome his obstacles. They see each other as they are and appreciate and support each other with great sensitivity and care. It was just awesome to me when Jesse didn't back down from Aaron when they were in Glamour - that could have gone into cliche territory! I will be re-visiting this couple again with much pleasure!
I had initially wondered if the next book was going to be about Henry when I finished the last book, so I was also happy to get a bit more of his story. Mmm, where he did slip off to at the wedding? (Nudge, nudge, wink, wink!) Also, it was just great to be back in Glamour for a short bit and have Jesse become a part of a larger group of friends and family beyond just Aaron. Other great supporting characters I loved include Aaron's step-mom and his cool and crazy grandmother!
I'll definitely keep an eye out for the next book in the series!
This is the second in The Guy series. Aaron was introduced in book 1 when Dean visited him in hospital in Germany. Aaron was discharged from the military for medical reasons. He returns to NYC to start life again. But after visiting his childhood friend’s brother, Jesse, they are drawn to each other. Jesse had always had feelings for Aaron, but Jesse thought Aaron had feelings for his brother Gregory.
This was a nice romantic novel. Jesse was an oddball and pretty much ostracized by his family because he did not fit the mold that his father and mother had made for their children. His brother Gregory was a high powered investor and his sister Sarah married with children. Jesse was the mountain man, with scrappy beard, growing his own food and, surprisingly, a sculptor. Aaron and Jesse find what they need with each other.
My only issue is I wanted to know what happened with Gregory. He was a closet homosexual but chose to stay with Mindy, his girlfriend because he wanted to run for public office. The story seemed to imply that there was something between him and his personal trainer, Raul. Left me wanting…..
I wanted to give this more, but in the end couldn't
I felt for Jesse, all his life he has never been good enough for his family. His anxiety attacks are not helped by his family instead he is told to get over it. They have never taken any interest in his art or his life as he didn't take the track they wanted from their son.
This is part of the reason the relationship between the two guys in part didn't work for me. When meeting again after years of absence Aaron is horrified and put off by Jeese's appearance. When this changed I don't know. And leading up to Jesse's families party Aaron always wanted Gregory. It was only after actually talking to Gregory at the party that Aaron realised that he was boring and not what he wanted, that he turned to Jesse.
The relationship took off fast after that and with Jesse's anxieties I thought that he would have questioned the relationship more. It always felt like he was the second choice and Jesse deserved more than that.
That being said I did like them together and how they worked as a couple, but It just always stayed in the back of my mind the start of the relationship.
